Here we are again at the end of yet another month and what a busy one it’s been. I’ve been busy with outside events and store events. Planning a move, planning another event with Karan Gerber and also planning to bring you an alcohol artist workshop ( wait until you see that!). Sometimes I feel like I will never get anything finished, including getting the newsletter out! Yet, I did. When we get overwhelmed, as all of us do at some point, it’s best to take a step back and evaluate what it is that is causing our distress. Most times it’s things we have no control over. In which case, as Elsa sings, let it go! I know it’s easier said than done but the next time you feel like you are being swallowed by a black hole of a to do list, just “let it go” and go off to do something else that is probably more meaningful to you anyway. In the big picture it’s all small stuff.
So as I head into my most favourite month of the year, yes I am a Christmas junkie lol, I have to keep taking breaths and telling myself to relax, it will get done. I’ve got the 10 days of Christmas sale planned for you, I hope you can make it. I have a great gift for you this year, I love giving gifts and I really like this one. I even partnered with other businesses locally to make it happen which pleases me to no end. Gosh we have a lot of great business people in this town! I hope you have taken the time to explore some.
Speaking of local business, my final note before I sign off for this month, is for you to consider local business this holiday. With the Canada Post strike dragging on, anything coming across the border is potentially facing long delays. Instead of having a disappointed child not getting their gift or that package getting lost, or even worse buying some cheap knock off product to save a few dollars, consider this: every small business in this area keeps their money here which can help you. A franchise has to donate sales percentage to head offices, they may be restricted in their fund raising efforts because the head office only supports one charity. Small independent businesses get involved locally. They put their kids in dance lessons here, they donate to the charities and raffles and events to support local causes. It stays personal. That can only continue with your support. I’ve actually lost track of all the events I helped support this year, I was proud to do it but I can’t do it without you. You keep me here and you keep me being able to participate in these things which I enjoy immensely. I love my job and I love this little town. I can only be here with your support.
Well that turned into a lengthy heart filled message, if you read this far thank you! lol.
Be good to yourself and those around you. Hope to see you soon.
Cards and Coffee,
