Another trip around the sun is complete and we sit at the cusp of entering the year 2020.  I remember when I was a kid in the 80s, the year 2000 seems like it was so far away.  Any year that didn’t start with 19 seemed impossible even.  Yet here we are, 20 years into a new millennium, crazy.  So much has changed this year for me and for this little store that is my happy place.  I’m not going to rehash everything that has gone on but I will say this, that whole saying “whatever doesn’t kill you  makes you stronger”, that’s 100% true for me.  Head up, eyes forward and lets start over with the right foot in front, just like every day.  Life is meant to be lived and damn it, that’s what I’ve been doing more and more of each year.  I was gifted with the sense to realize what’s important earlier than most and I’m so grateful for that.  Ok that’s just getting way too deep even for this philosophical, rose coloured glasses chick! Forgive me, LOL.

What’s on tap for 2020?  Well,  save the date for March 28 for the spring crop at the Madawaska room again.  If you want to travel, the weekend retreat in Sudbury with Karan Gerber will be October 23 – 25 at the Northbury Conference Center.  Classes resume in January again.  Linda Mills will be returning for more alcohol ink projects and Brigette Dumas will make a few appearances with her projects.  Special events are in the works as well.  Your best way to stay on top of it all is to read the newsletter, visit facebook or Instagram or even just drop by or call regularly so you don’t miss out on anything.

As you head into the holidays, I hope you get to spend it with all the people you love.  Create new memories, celebrate old ones, take pictures!  Lots of pictures.  If you haven’t got into any photos because you are the one always taking them, get into one.  If you are fortunate to have a grand parent living, ask for their stories about Christmas as a child, or encourage your children to ask your parents if that’s an option. Savour every day, eat lots of food and laugh.  Laugh until your belly hurts and your cheeks are sore.  Remember your life is here to live, so enjoy every minute.  I hope to see you all happy, healthy and refreshed in the new year.

Reminder, I am closed Dec 23 – Jan 1.  Open again Jan 2 at 10 am.

Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel and Sretan Bozic for any of my Croatian readers 🙂  Thank you for your support in 2019.
