How’s your fall going? Busy busy? Another week of September has passed. We are firmly into our back to school routine and working on getting the yard ready for winter. As much as I don’t want to think about it, it will be here before you know it.
I love September for many things, but mostly because I was married in September. Look at those fresh young faces ready to take on anything…and we have! September 25th is our 20th wedding anniversary already. The last 20 years seem to have passed in the blink of an eye. September 25th was a special day before we were married. It was also my grandparents wedding anniversary. I waited 2 years to marry Chris after he proposed because I wanted to have the same day as my grandparents. No two people showed me what a loving marriage was like more than my grandparents. If my grandpa was still with us, it would be their 72nd anniversary this year. My grandpa was so thrilled when we moved back to Ontario and landed in North Bay in 2011, only an hour away from them. We spent the next two anniversaries with them, each time we left my grandpa would say, “same time next year!”. Sadly, he passed away in 2013 and we only got the 2 anniversaries together but I keep him in my heart a bit more every September 25th. Bet you didn’t know I was that sentimental did you?!
September also brought us Linda Mills for another great alcohol ink class. Here’s a hint, a big project is in the works before Christmas so watch for details on that soon so you don’t miss out! She’s such a great person and an amazing teacher. If you want to get instruction on alcohol inks, she really is the best. Follow the facebook page if you want to know when her classes are posted immediately and not miss a spot. I’m so excited to post the next class!
Lots going on in October once again. The week of October 21 will have some weird hours so watch for posts on facebook if you don’t want to waste a trip down. I am hoping to go to North Bay and take in a curling draw with my dad if he’s well enough that week. As a lot of you know, he just finished up radiation treatment for prostate cancer and he’s having a bit of a tough time. It’s his third cancer and while he’s still remaining positive about the crap life is throwing him these past 5 years, I know he still has down days. Going to this together would be something to look forward to for him, so I’m really hoping he’s feeling well enough for it to happen. It’s no secret to anyone I put my family first. Life is too short not to. I will be closed on Friday the 25th to travel to Sudbury for the crop with Karan Gerber. I’m also waiting for confirmation to attend an event here in town called junior achievers. That is October 24 and could see me closed for the morning should I be on their panel or not. I should know more on that in a few weeks if its a go or not.
New product is always arriving. Sometimes it’s in and out before I even post about it! I’m very excited to say that I will have a new product line coming soon – Pink Fresh! You may have seen some of their product on pinterest, beautiful stamps and sentiments and some very nice dies. Hopefully they arrive next month so stay tuned. Many new Christmas papers are in stock and moving quickly. Pop in soon if you are wanting any new designs for your Christmas card making and scrapbooking.
If you read this far, thank you! Enjoy the fall and life! Hope to see you all soon!
